At Front Desk, First Sheet

Well, as I told you, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I worked at the first sheet. I helped answers the phone, make reservations, and any other inquire that guests may have. Sometimes I do not have the answers to the guests questions so I prefer to transfer the call to the person I was working with. While, my stayed at there I met some people who do not speak English. For example a lady who came with her husband to the doctors’ conference at the Phoenix Convention Center, they were from Peru. As well, I helped two Christian men who came to make reservation for their ministers; they said that they would hold a convention at downtown Phoenix. They invited me to attend to their meeting. Finally, Friday, in the morning was not so busy, however, in the afternoon Georgene the director of sale asked me to help her enter some data from a group that is coming to the hotel in May. Unfortunately, I was not able to finished enter the data to the computer, they were too many, so I did the most I could and then I went to home.

  1. It seems like an eventful day for you. Were you able to help the people who did not speak english or did you have someone else help them? I think it is great that the Christian people invited to their meeting. Im sorry you were not able to attend. Did you enjoy working in sales? I'm kind of nervous to work in sales but want to get other peoples views.

  2. Well, I helped those people to make the reservations. In addition, I helped them to answers inquires that they had about the hotel. I translated what they want to know when I did not have the answers, so other could answers what they wanted to know. I worked at the sale department only for two weeks. I was not really deal with guests and clients personally, most things I did was sending letters to different associations that have meeting at downtown Phoenix and invite them to stay at the hotel. In addition, I did research about different hotel around the area to know what their rates are.

  3. Do you think you would be interested in working at the front desk of a hotel? Now that you have experience in it some hotels may look for someone who can speak more than one language. It seems like you had a busy day and it also seems like the guests like you so you must be doing a good job!
